In April 2026 our pilot node ran for five days in the tomato section of the HAMK research greenhouse at Lepaa, side by side with Priva Connext and Aranet Pro. Same room, same air, same crop. Here is what happened.

The results

Tracking a €100,000 climate computer.

The Priva Connext installation at Lepaa costs more than €100,000. Our pilot node tracked its readings hour by hour, for five straight days, from a single wireless box.

Temperature

r = 0.98

Correlation of 0.980 with Priva Connext and 0.987 with Aranet Pro across 1,418 records. When the room warmed and cooled, our node moved with the professionals, reading for reading.

CO₂

r = 0.945

Correlation of 0.945 with Priva Connext, above the 0.90 benchmark for acceptable scientific agreement. Every ventilation cycle and every crop uptake curve appeared in both systems.

Readings flowed from the greenhouse in Lepaa to the cloud backend without a single gap over 15 minutes, through five days of watering, condensation, and daily greenhouse work.

What the pilot taught us

We publish what we found, and what we fixed.

A validation campaign is only worth something if you act on all of it. Phase one exposed four weaknesses. The production node you can order today was redesigned around them.

Temperature ran warm

The pilot read about 2.3 °C above the references because the sensor sat too close to its own electronics. The production node separates the sensing path from the heat sources and compensates in firmware. Accuracy is now ±0.4 °C.

Humidity needed a better sensor

Pilot humidity tracked the daily rhythm but sat around 10 %RH low. The production node uses a dedicated humidity sensor rated at ±3 %RH, in a housing that lets the greenhouse air reach it properly.

The light sensor failed on day one

A hard lesson in component quality. The production node carries a new light sensor covering 0 to 120,000 lux across the visible spectrum, and every unit is tested before it ships.

Soil readings depend on placement

Two probes in different spots of the same slab disagree, which the pilot made plain. The production probe sits on a 60 cm cable so it reaches the root zone you actually care about, wherever the node hangs.

Full methodology and statistics are documented in a published engineering thesis (HAMK, 2026). The pilot compared 1,418 aligned five-minute records against Priva Connext and Aranet Pro using Pearson correlation and Bland-Altman analysis.
